Nong Kiaw Learning Centre |
Nan Learning Centre
|
The Learning Centre at Nong Kiaw is situated next door to the town's primary school. It organises after-school activities at the same time as providing a valuable educational resource for the school. The centre is well used with over 200 children attending every week, who participate in a number of different activities, including cultural activities, sports, games and, of course, a serious emphasis on education.
In addition, the fantastic staff take the centre out to rural schools on educational day trips to help the many under-resourced schools in the vicinity. Baraka has also funded some of the infrastructure at the centre, building a new toilet block (also used by the school) and an outdoor covered play area used by the children for sports, games and cultural shows. |
Baraka Community Partnerships started contributing to the funding of this centre in 2019. The centre is a smaller version of Nong Kiaw, supporting just over 100 children and offering a similar range of activities. Our aim is to improve the infrastructure to help develop the centre so that it can support more children from further afield.
