Welcome to Baraka Community Partnerships
Improving education, healthcare, water and sanitation in Zambia and Laos
developing educational facilities
Baraka empowers communities to develop their own sustainable, self-sufficient futures through education. Approximately 80% of our funding supports educational projects.
promoting health initiatives
Baraka Canada organizes and completes medical trips to Zambia. Over the course of these trips, volunteer doctors have seen more than 7,000 patients at various rural locations and dealt with a multitude of ailments, including malaria, HIV, intestinal parasites, infectious diseases and even crocodile bites.
instigating water and sanitation projects
Baraka supports water and sanitation projects that improve health, dignity, and daily life in rural communities. By helping to build and maintain clean water systems and safe sanitation facilities, Baraka reduces the spread of waterborne diseases and eases the burden on women and girls who often travel long distances to collect water. These projects not only meet immediate needs but also create lasting impact, supporting stronger, healthier communities where people can thrive.
“At Baraka, we take time to get to know our schools, communities and children. We create partnerships with our communities and ensure there is buy-in to everything we do."
— Andy Mckee, Co-Founder
