a focus on education

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

- Nelson Mandela

The main focus of our operation in Zambia is to improve educational opportunities for Zambian children. This we do in a number of ways, but principally by providing improved infrastructure and teaching resources in schools, and by sponsoring children and young adults to go to school or college.

The demand for our support is huge and we are unable to support all the schools that we would like to. However, with your support we can widen our net and bring better learning environments to more children.

Education Projects in Zambia

Kapiri & Maamba Learning centres

Our Learning Centre in Central Province assists over 30 rural schools, their teachers and thousands of children, as well as supporting the wider community.

We support schools by building classrooms, teachers' houses and toilet blocks. We provide training and resources for teachers, install blackboards, donate textbooks, computers and sports equipment.

Baraka Primary & Secondary School

Baraka operated a primary school that is located near the learning centre. Beside the primary school, a secondary school is under construction.

Baraka Sponsorship program

Through this program, over 300 children have been given the chance to have an education who otherwise wouldn't have had one.

Sponsoring a young adult with Baraka is simple. We are always in need of donors as we have so many students ready and waiting to embark on a university degree or diploma.

Supporting rural schools

We like to get to know our schools to create partnerships with the communities.  The vast majority of schools in rural Zambia have similar issues: poor infrastructure, insufficient access to water and clean toilets, not enough supplies, and poor standards of teaching.

We help by providing educational resources, building and renovating classrooms and toilet blocks and helping to raise educational standards.
