Zambia:

a focus on education

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

- Nelson Mandela

The main focus of our operation in Zambia is to improve educational opportunities for Zambian children. We do this in four ways:

  • Free access to all at our two Learning Centres

  • Two Safe Houses for vulnerable teenage girls

  • A pathway to a university degree via our sponsorship programme

  • Improving school infrastructure, water and educational resources

The demand for our support is huge and we are unable to support all the schools that we would like to. However, with your support we can widen our net and bring better learning environments to more children.

Education Projects in Zambia

Kapiri & Maamba Learning centres

Our Learning Centres are educational hubs providing top-quality resources and teaching provided free to local children and schools.

Our existing Learning Centre is in Kapiri Mposhi, Central Province. It assists over 100 schools and their teachers, thousands of children, as well as supporting the wider community.

We offer a wide range of locally unparalleled facilities, both educational and sporting, including a science block, an ICT suite and a fully stocked library.

Our Maamba Learning Centre is under construction. We hope to complete our first phase of building in September 2026, ready to open for the new school term.

Baraka Primary & Secondary School

We took over a government primary school in January 2026 near our Kapiri Learning Centre and renamed it Baraka Primary School.

Since then we have dramatically improved the infrastructure, the staffing and the resources as part of our three year plan to revitalise the school and significantly improve the grades of the children.

Also in 2026, we commenced construction of the Baraka Secondary School for Girls, adjacent to our Kapiri Learning Centre. The school is already functioning with 70 girls but will officially open in June 2026.

Sponsorship Program

Through this program, over 500 children have been given the chance to have an education that they otherwise wouldn't have had.

Sponsoring a student with Baraka is simple. We are always in need of donors as we have so many students ready and waiting to embark on a university degree or Masters.

Supporting rural schools

We like to get to know our schools to create partnerships with the communities.  The vast majority of schools in rural Zambia have similar issues: poor infrastructure, insufficient access to water and clean toilets, insufficient educational supplies, and poor standards of teaching.

We help by providing educational resources, building and renovating classrooms and teachers’ houses, toilet blocks and helping to raise educational standards.
